WOMAN & CHILD WELFARE CENTRE (WCWC)

FACOR donated land and buildings for voluntary service organization called WOMAN & CHILD WELFARE CENTER, registered under Societies Act, which is exclusively engaged full time for development and improvement of living conditions of local women & children living in these backward and remote rural villages, since 1978. The built up area is 22,593 SFT on a land of 2.15 Acres for new complex and another hostel built up area is 13000 SFT on a land of 4.0 Acres.

This institution runs residential schools for differently abled children for classes from 1 to 10 affiliated to State Syllabus, since 1988.. The children with blindness study in a school called DRUSHTI, those who are deaf& dumb study in SHABDAM and those mentally retarded study in MANOVIKAS. 10 batches of 339 students have passed out 10th Class Exam and are settled well in society. The old students celebrated their Alumni in Dec 2017 with their families.

This center runs vocational (skill development) courses like embroidery, tailoring, soap making, fashion technology, beauty care, printing, and bakery for the benefit of poor women. Several women in Garividi mandal were benefited and started to make their own living independently. The center also runs Homes for the aged and orphaned men & women separately. Many handicapped adults were often given tricycles and artificial limbs. This charitable center is well recognized for its noble services in the revenue district, state and the country. The residential schools celebrated their Silver Jubilee on September 25, 2006. This center actively serves the society under the leadership of Mrs.Promila Saraf, the wife of Mr.R.K.Saraf.

  • Drawing partial support of Grant-in- Aid from Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India, NRI/domestic contributions from Philanthropists and Lions club of Shreeramnagar also.
  • Donations to wcwc are eligible for Income Tax rebate u/s 80G.

CONTRIBUTIONS:

Residential School for Differently abled Children

  • Started in 1988 for 1st to 10th classes affiliated to State Syllabus.
  • No of Students passed out 10th class Exams in 10 batches from 1999 to 2017: 339.
  • Total No of Students studied in the school up to 2017:4809
  • Inmate children are provided with free food, board, books, fees, etc.
  • Distributed Hearing Aids to all the Shabdam School Children
  • 300 Old students of Residential School celebrated their ALUMNI in Dec 2017 with their families. They are settled well in society by working in public/private sectors.

Vocational (Skill Development) Courses for local women and men )

  • Started in 1978 various vocational courses such as Tailoring & Embroidery, Printing & Stationery, Making of Artificial Limbs, Bakery, candle making, detergent powder making, chalk pieces making for mostly women and for men.
  • No. of beneficiaries under these courses: 1174
  • No of beneficiaries under micro credits given to self help groups: 431
  • These beneficiaries are earning their livelihood in self employment sector.
